We no longer manufacture skis with pre-drilled inserts. All ski models are "flat deck" and can be mounted with either telemark or AT bindings.

Maybe these will be more solid than the Sparks. I bought them last year and they fell apart FAST!! I lock-tighted the screws that hold the baseplate to the uppers and they rattled out in less than a week. Worse off.....their "board crampons" actually BROKE the baseplate. There is a climbing bar on the top of the crampon, and if you know anything about lever arms doesn't make a bit of sense. I broke BOTH baseplates after a solid weekend of touring icy sidehills on the E. side of the Sierras. NOT STOKED at all!! Voile stock set-up is heavier but more reliable!!

I have another suggestion. I use Bomber Bindings. They require an additional adapter plate that adds a LOT of weight. The plates must have been a patent issue with bolt patterns or something. Is it possible to get a plate set that is not drilled out with the holes?

Hard to beat the Mojo in all conditions. It really shines in steep, pow filled trees and wide open bowls. Even when the conditions are less than ideal the Mojo never feels to be stable and reliable.

Since you spend the majority of the day going up the light under foot feel makes the "earn" part of the day a pleasure.

Had the great honor of skiing a 1/2 day with this fellow on Jan. 28th 2009. It was a wicked cold day with -30 wind chill and the top of Copper closed. Could see nothing off of B lift. It was hard to follow Rainer because no sooner than he offs the lift...he fades into the snow. I have no doubt he can ski Copper in a total white out just by feeling his way as he telewhacks along. Go Rainer and thanks for waiting for me.
